Aithera’s travels take her through forests and villages in her pursuit of the ways of magic, and along the way, she encounters an old man named Devon. She is drawn to help him survive a sudden snowstorm and a mystery begins to unfold about his past. Another victim of the snowstorm appears to help her—a country girl named Jira. Is this a chance meeting or are other forces involved?
As they help the old man, Aithera and Jira discover that he has a broken amulet—its magic scattered, much like the old man’s mind. Through visions, they see glimpses of his past that reveal he was once powerful, loved, and adored. Together they set out to find the pieces to the amulet, and with each piece found, Devon gets stronger and younger. The search takes them to a hidden valley and to those that know the past and also those that seek to stop the return of the great lord.
Aithera will have to face nightmares from her orphaned past, Jira will find that she is not just a simple farm girl, and Devon will return to the source of his greatest pain.
Valley of Mystery just might create more questions than it answers.
